Description of Job Duties


We are currently filling open positions for Gallery Assistants in the North Central College campus galleries. Student Gallery Assistants are primarily responsible for staffing Schoenherr Gallery in the Wentz Fine Arts Center. These duties include welcoming and engaging with patrons to the gallery to ensure a positive and accessible experience, overseeing the security of the artwork, and assisting patrons with any questions they may have. Additionally, these positions may involve loading artwork in and out of the on-campus galleries (including Oesterle and Meiley-Swallow as needed), as well as hanging and deinstalling exhibits. Gallery assistants will work independently with minimal supervision, but also communicate clearly with co-workers, patrons, and supervisors. This position is open to students from all majors wishing to gain experience in curatorial practice, educational programming, and nonprofit management.

•Must be enrolled as a student at North Central College

Approximate number of work hours per week
minimum 5-maximum 10, depending on student availability and Schoenherr gallery hours. Gallery hours are during the day M-F, Saturday afternoons.
