Corteva Agriscience is seeking an experienced Senior Lab Animal Technician/Associate Scientist for our ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion) Team at our Mammalian Toxicology Center located in Newark, Delaware. The successful candidate will work in an AAALAC-accredited facility to perform in vivo rodent experiments to characterize the ADME properties of new crop protection chemicals.This individual will work with and under the guidance of colleagues in a team environment.
What You'll Do: - Serve as primary technician on rodent pharmacokinetic and material balance studies.
- Humane care to laboratory rodents; careful handling/restraint of animals.
- Conduct in vivo experiments in rats and mice, including animal handling, clinical observations, and the collection of biological samples (excreta, whole blood, bile, and tissues).
- Perform dose administration procedures in rats and mice by multiple routes (PO, IV).
- Capture and collect electronic data in a metabolism laboratory information management system (Debra™) and maintain study notebooks.
- Collecting, recording, documenting, and reporting results with a high degree of accuracy and precision in a timely manner.
- Solubilize or homogenize tissues and excreta for sample analysis.
- Operate various instruments including balances, pipettes, liquid scintillation counters and sample oxidizers.
- Understanding and following all relevant protocols, SOPs, GLPs, and safety guidelines.
- Learning and refining new laboratory skills and techniques.
- Work with radiolabeled test materials (Carbon-14)
Qualifications What Skills You Need: - A.S. or B.S. degree in animal science, biology, or related science field with at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience in the humane handling of laboratory rodents for dosing, sampling and observation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and perform basic wet chemistry calculations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn other software/validated systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work weekend, holiday, and/or extended hours on a rotating schedule.

What makes you stand out: - Experience working in a GLP environment, preferably in industry or CRO.
- Familiarity with AAALAC and Animal Welfare Act regulations and guidelines.
