Responsibilities:
- Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist III/IV in the Ridgefield, CT area.
- Develop and execute in vivo studies to qualify exploratory new therapeutic concepts for anti-inflammatory and/or fibrotic mechanisms.
- Contribute to the incorporation of new ideas and the development of innovative processes, including technologies such as in vivo siRNA and adeno-associated virus (AAV) delivery.
- Contribute to the incorporation of new ideas and contribute to the development of innovative processes, including technologies, presentations & publications.
- Independently plan, coordinate, conduct and interpret non-routine in vivo studies to explore mechanism of action and biomarker identification, to support translational biology and deliver clear understanding of new therapeutic concepts.
- Be motivated to apply his/her skills to impact project needs and drive key innovative scientific concepts and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with a proven ability to focus and deliver high quality data that support timely decisions for projects.
- Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven track record of high research accountability and productivity both independently, with minimal supervision and within a team setting in a matrix environment.
- Continue to develop scientific expertise and drug development knowledge by keeping abreast of relevant literature, and by expanding scientific/technical knowledge and skill sets.
- Ensure compliance with all required training, safety, regulatory, HR and intellectual property activities and corporate policies.
- Assist in training junior scientists in all areas of laboratory operations.
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree up to a PhD from an accredited institution with 3+ years' experience in Immunology or a related field
- Scientist III Requirements:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related Scientific discipline, OR
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in related Scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
- Scientist IV Requirements:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution with six-plus (6+) years of experience in a related Scientific discipline, OR
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with 10+ years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience in a related field
- Requirements for both levels:
- Understanding of basic Scientific principles and research practices in the field of Immunology.
- Strong understanding of mouse biology and immunology with extensive hands-on experience conducting rodent experiments including preparation of test compounds, handling and dosing mice by various routes (IP, SC, IV or PO), collection of blood and tissues for PK and PD biomarker analysis.
- Experience in techniques such as ELISA, MSD multiplexing, RNA isolation, RT-PCR and western blots.
- Experience in using multi-color flow cytometry (FACS) to evaluate immune cell biomarkers and data analysis software is preferred but not required.
- Experience or familiarity with in vivo vector delivery (e.g., minicircle DNA, adeno-associated virus (AAV) or si/shRNA) is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with hydrodynamic tail vein injection is a plus but not required.
- Experience in use of Microsoft Office tools and GraphPad (Prism).
- Team player with exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, with the ability to propose, articulate, evaluate and defend scientific ideas and data.
