Overview:
This position coordinates, leads, and directs all property security and safety policies and procedures. In this role you will lead and chair the propertys safety committee and you are responsible for the development and implementation of all safety awareness initiatives, OSHA training, and property emergency procedures. This position will direct the activities for the security and safety of the property, in compliance with all state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain complete awareness of scheduled group activities and house count, hotel facilities and services, hours of operation, facility layout, fire and emergency plans, and departmental rules of conduct.
- Review department log records and be familiar with pertinent information relevant to the daily shift.
- Resolve, document, and track all security related issues or problems.
- Respond to all general liability insurance claims.
- Coordinate the timely preparation of all Security logs, shift reports, and other permanent records.
- Review all reports regularly for completeness and accuracy.
- Inform Director of Engineering, Hotel Manager, and General Manager of all matters concerning safety and security.
- Develop and supervise key control program, including master key distribution list, control of key blank purchases, and key production.
- Work with hotel department managers to coordinate hotel safety program.
- Maintain adherence to Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control program. Train all staff regarding policies and procedures. Have appropriate equipment located at hotel.
- Set and maintain standards for all investigations.
- Conduct detailed investigations of work-related injuries.
- Responsible for the search, storage and return of all lost and found items.
- Maintain and update master files of all MSDS information for all hotel departments. Ensure that all departments have correct information accessible to staff.
- Coordinate, schedule and lead First Aid, CPR, fire extinguisher, active shooter training, violence prevention training, disaster preparedness, and safety orientation training for hotel employees.
- Oversee and ensure timely compliance of TIPS and first-aid training of all Security officers and F&B team members as applicable.
- Host and schedule routine fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures.
- Responsible to offer monthly safety trainings to include safety topics of the week such as Blood Borne Pathogens, Proper Lifting Techniques, HAZMAT, etc.
- Oversee scheduling and time management of all Security staff members.
- Provide escorts for team members in accordance with departmental standards.
- Ensure that after-hours access into secured hotel areas is properly authorized, monitored, and documented in accordance with hotel standards.
- Handle deliveries received during non-business hours following hotel procedures.
- Work with outside agencies (i.e., sheriff) cooperatively and follow established hotel regulations.
- Coordinate emergency situations as specified in the departmental manual.
- Contact the Security Supervisor immediately for emergency situations as specified in the departmental manual.
- Monitor surveillance cameras as assigned.
- Investigate duress alarms and comply with respective procedures.
- Patrol the property with specified equipment, check all designated points, and document all actions are taken in accordance with departmental standards.
- Chair the Safety Committee and conduct monthly safety department inspections. Host monthly Safety Committee meetings.
- Manage the work injury prevention plan and file all work related injuries with the companys workers compensation insurance.
- Maintain OSHA 300 log of recorded team member work injuries. File annual reports accordingly.
- Responsible to manage and maintain up to date information in the hotels Emergency Action Plan department manuals.
Qualifications:
- Education . Bachelor's degree in hospitality or criminal justice. Any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Work Experience. Minimum of three years of Security and Safety management level experience in a hotel with proven successful track record of effectively managing safety, security, and crisis situations.
- We are in the business of serving guests and it requires operational understanding to support our hotel that remains open 7 days a week 24 hours a day. Flexibility to work varied schedules to accommodate the needs of our business is necessary.
- A qualified applicant is a proven safety and security expert that thrives on the challenge of crisis management finding new ways to inspire safety practices for all areas of the hotel. Additional requirements include;
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record.
- Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods, and fire safety.
- Valid certification in CPR and first aid.
- Certification in an alcohol awareness program.

- Great communicator. Provide legible communication and directions this requires excellent listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and through excellent written communication.
- Excellent Administrator. Organization and the ability to create, implement, and analyze manual and reports coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial experience to handle crisis situations will keep the hotel safe and you organized to ensure all important information is recorded.

- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, stand, and sit 6-8 hours per day and may have exposure to basic office supply chemicals.
- The team member is occasionally required to climb and use balance. Additionally, they will frequently be asked to use their hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
