Job Description & Responsibilities We are looking for an RF Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading research and development of new products, leading to improvements in existing products and overall systems solutions. This role will play a critical role in developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers. The Product Design Engineer will identify customer needs through face-to-face interaction and play a critical role in developing the product solution. The Product Design Engineer will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions with both on-site and remote teams. Position Responsibilities Facilitate firmware integration to match seamlessly with RF front-end functionality. Execute projects from conception to full product release, involving high-frequency, multi-bandwidth wireless and modem design products. Collaborate with firmware engineers for the overall RFFE software architecture, interface, and modularization during development. Work with Layer 2 and IP networking concepts and RF laboratory equipment, including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, and LabVIEW. Manage RF board-level design, impedance matching, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, filters, noise minimization, interference isolation techniques, and RF component performance at both individual and system levels. Ensure compliance with FCC requirements for radio subsystems. Support software and hardware testing. Support engineering projects including new product development, product changes, and customer integration. Facilitate change management processes and maintain communication with key stakeholders. Provide support and deliver solutions for rapid development projects. Job Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of experience in RF engineering. Strong understanding of Linux systems. Knowledge of physical/MAC layer protocol stacks and testing procedures. Knowledge of RF transmitter and receiver components, transmission line theory, antennas, RF front-end modules, and RF system architecture. Experience with Layer 2 and IP networking concepts and RF laboratory equipment, including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power meters, and LabVIEW. Experience with RF performance characterization and optimization to meet FCC compliance. Knowledge of WLAN protocols and networking concepts. Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, RF simulation tools. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in electrical engineering. Experience with military, aviation, and commercial radio standards. Experience with RF board-level design, impedance matching, power and low-noise amplifiers, filters, and interference mitigation. Familiarity with outsourced fabrication processes. Embedded Firmware Development experience in Assembly, C, and C++. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance. The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $190,000 annually, based on qualifications, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
