POSITION SUMMARY Part Time Ski Patrol position. This is a lateral move for applicants that have already acted as a full-time patroller at any level above trainee. This position will require valid CPR, Outdoor Emergency or CO certified-EMT.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Administer first aid to injured individuals
- Respond to emergency situations at the ski area
- Responsible for skier education
- Responsible for assisting in patrolling the ski area boundaries
- Assist with clearing of ski lift areas as directed
- Assist with ski and boot packing of the ski area as directed
- Assist with sweeping of trails to ensure that all skiers are down at the end of the day
- Assist with crowd control as directed
- Must be knowledgeable of snowmobile safety and operating procedures
- Must ski in a safe manner
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Must have advanced or higher skiing ability in all terrain in all conditions
- Must present proof of either of the following - Outdoor Emergency Care or Colorado certified EMT
- Must be currently certified and present a valid up to date CPR for the Professional Rescuer card or currently enrolled in a class to get you those certifications.
- Must possess excellent public relations and communications skills as well as high level of friendliness
- Must handle stressful situations
- Adhere to all safety policies
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's Service Excellence standards
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION - This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime; full time for this position is up to 48 hours/week
- This is a part time position with a 23-day commitment
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Wage Range: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on previous patrol experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be at least 18 years of age
- Clearly speak and understand the English language
- Must hear clearly with or without a hearing device
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (i.e. adjunctive equipment, assistance with people)
- Operate a snowmobile in a safe manner
- Must have a valid Driver's License and meet insurability standards
- Must be an expert level skier in all terrain
