We are seeking a motivated and skilled Massage Therapist Designated Trainer to join our spa team. The Designated Trainer will be a partner and support to the Lead Massage Therapist, being responsible for providing comprehensive training and development to new and existing spa staff, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and standards necessary to provide exceptional service to our guests. This role plays a key part in maintaining the resort spa’s high-quality service, brand integrity, and team performance. Some additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

· Training Program Development & Delivery:

o Design, implement, and facilitate training programs for massage therapists.

o Coordinate therapist training schedules, ensuring optimal attendance while maintaining availability for the operation to continue performing services for in-house guests.

o Train staff in various spa services and protocols.

o Ensure that all team members are proficient in spa-specific products, techniques, and equipment.

· Ongoing Education and Skill Development:

o Provide education to staff members on emerging spa trends, industry best practices, and advanced techniques.

o Conduct regular performance evaluations and skill assessments to identify areas of improvement and provide additional training or coaching.

o Stay up-to-date with the latest wellness trends and integrate them into training sessions to enhance the service offerings.

· Customer Service Excellence:

o Provide exceptional therapeutic massage services to our guests.

o Teach and reinforce exceptional customer service skills, focusing on guest satisfaction, professionalism, and personalized care.

o Train staff to handle guest requests and concerns effectively and professionally to ensure a positive guest experience.

o Promote the importance of creating a serene and welcoming atmosphere for guests, reflecting the resort’s luxury standards.

Operational Efficiency & Compliance:

o Ensure that all team members adhere to spa policies, health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and confidentiality requirements.

o Conduct regular audits to assess the consistency of staff performance and adherence to operational guidelines.

o Provide guidance on effective time management, scheduling, and teamwork to optimize spa operations.

· Leadership & Team Development:

o Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.

o Serve as a mentor and role model, offering guidance and feedback to spa staff to improve their skills and performance.

· Spa Service Enhancement:

o Collaborate with Spa Management and Lead Massage Therapist to develop new treatment offerings and ensure staff is trained in new services and protocols.

o Assist in maintaining the spa’s service standards by ensuring that training aligns with the resort’s brand values and mission.

o Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making recommendations for improvements as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS 

· Current and valid Massage Therapist license.

  • In possession of a Texas State License by start date.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in massage therapy, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role in hospitality.

· Previous experience in development and execution of training materials and information.

· Expertise and/or extensive knowledge in a broad range of massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, Thai, energy work etc.).

· Prior experience working in a resort or high-end spa environment is strongly preferred.

· Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

· Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage time efficiently, multi-task, and handle a busy work environment.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

· Must be flexible and able to work weekdays, weekends, mornings, nights and holidays.

· Professional demeanor with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, and stretching.

· CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
