The purpose of this position is to lead the design, development, and implementation of a strong system of curriculum, instruction, and assessment unique to elementary schools. To develop and lead professional learning opportunities for elementary schools across the district. Is part of the leadership team that works collaboratively to support learning communities and ensure alignment across Hamilton County Schools.
Responsibilities - Develops and implements a bold and unique vision for elementary school learning focusing on instructional personalization.
- Directs the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of district curriculum implementation to ensure alignment between Tennessee State Standards, summative, interim and formative assessments, curricular resources, and professional learning for teachers and leaders.
- Coordinates processes for the selection and development of curriculum; manage teams and processes related to these responsibilities.
- Creates a customer-focused climate and provides quality services and support to schools and the
- Supervises identified staff to ensure effective implementation of all district curricula at the classroom and school levels.
- Coordinates daily work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work to elementary school content leads; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff, assists with complex problem situations, and provides technical guidance and expertise to address problems in assigned area.
- Communicates with Learning Community Superintendents to develop and implement action plans for schools within the networks.
- Develop highly impactful professional learning and supports for elementary school instructional
- Collaborates with other learning directors concerning textbook adoptions for elementary schools and identifies aligned instructional resources.
- Complies with accounting and financial policies and procedures, as well as all other Board

Qualifications Knowledge/Education/Experience: - Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate field; Master's degree strongly preferred or as required by state guidelines.
- Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in school administration or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
Skills/Qualifications: - Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students, educators, Board members, parents, and community members.
Compensation: Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
