A LITTLE ABOUT US TURN Community Services was founded in 1973 by a group of parents who wanted better services for their adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities. With locations from Brigham City to St. George, we offer a full range of services including day programs, residential living, art center programs, summer camp, and supported employment opportunities.

YOUR LIFE AS A COMMUNITY ART PROGRAM ASSISTANT The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, with the possibility of 7:30am-3:30pm at times. In addition, flexibility to work outside of the typical schedule will be needed for program and agency events. At times this may include working into the late evening and on the weekend.
As a Community Art Program Assistant, you participate in managing and operating programs for people with disabilities. When person-centered service plans and behavior support plans are developed, you supervise. You also help with the implementation of those plans. Working with the team, you schedule and implement community activities. You're always an example to those we serve, modeling good language, attire, and hygiene.
This center specializes in teaching all forms of art; writing, drawing, singing, dancing, painting, playing of various instruments and more, as well as spending a lot of time experiencing adventures outside of their building.The individuals in the program are fairly independent with mobility and personal hygiene, and have higher behavioral needs and supports. The Coordinator and Assistant will assist individuals with social skills, communication, safety, recreation and leisure and various other skills to learn independence in their lives.
When the program coordinator is unavailable, you step up and manage all program operations and supervise our direct support professionals. Highly organized, you maintain program records, develop curriculum, and provide direct service to our clients. You wear many hats and help out in several different areas. With dedication, you ensure that all services are delivered as promised. At the end of each day, you feel great about adding value to the lives of individuals with disabilities - you love doing nonprofit work!
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU - 6+ months of experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities
- Experience teaching art, music, and dance skills
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
- A current driver's license and car insurance
- Valid driver's license, current motor vehicle insurance, and clean driving record.
- Driving large program buses and vans as well as being willing to train new employees to drive large vehicles.
- An art background and experience with arts in various disciplines.
