The Dean of Students team serves as your primary advocates. We provide timely support through a variety of programs, including crisis management, conflict resolution, emergency response.

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Students, the Associate Director is a full-time position within the Dean of Students Office. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the BCP and Resource Center and serves as a vital member of the CARE (Crisis, Assessment, Response, Evaluation) Team. The Associate Director develops and implements policies and procedures to address various forms of student insecurities and manage crises referred to the Dean of Students Office and CARE Team. This position collaborates closely with university stakeholders (Student Affairs offices, Resident Education and Development, Campus Services, UCPD, Parking Services) and community resources to identify and create resources that support students in crisis.

Essential Functions

? Responsible for developing, implementing, and administering the day-to-day goals, to achieve specific objectives for the BCP and Resource Center including the BCP Healthy Bites, Meal Voucher, and nutrition programs.

? Assist in developing strategies to address students in crisis referred to the CARE Team with food and housing insecurities and experiencing individual crisis.

? Develop and coordinate BCP and Resource Center and CARE Team training and educational seminars for academic units, student groups, and other campus partners. partners, and community partners to collect items and distribute for the BCP and Resource Center.

? Develop an aggressive fund-raising campaign including grant writing and oversee the BCP and Resource Center budget.

? Provide supervision to staff including Professional, graduate, and undergraduate student staff. 

? Implementation of a comprehensive food management system including maintaining the BCP and Resource Center agriculture and sustainable garden, fresh produce program, farmers market, and coordinating the urban cultivator.

? Communicate with faculty, staff, and students regarding students? cases.

? Coordinate student learning and engagement opportunities outside of academic setting

? Advocate for the needs of students who experiencing some form or crisis and adversity.

? Train and educate faculty and staff about the unique needs of students in crisis. 

? Work closely with the Associate Dean of Students in maintaining maxient a student database tracking students in crisis and the BCP/Stocker application.

? Conduct assessment measures to collect data to ensure efficient and ongoing evaluation of the BCP and Resource Center and care for students in Connections Program.

? Chair the BCP and Resource Center Advisory Committee made up of faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

? Assist with maintaining the web pages and other social media outlets for the BCP and Resource Center and CARE Team. 

? Build relationship with campus partners and stakeholders, such as Counseling and Psychological Services, Resident Education and Development, academic units, and off campus partners to advocate for students.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree

Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement

Required Experience

Five (5) years related experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

? Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, Education, Social Work, or related field.

? 3-5 years of experience working with students in a college/university setting.

? Experience with sustainability initiatives.

? Experience working in higher education settings.

? Experience in student activities.

? Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

? Excellent organizational skills.

? Proficient administrative abilities.

? Strong written and oral communication skills.

? Experience producing reports using Excel and other formats.

? Understanding of food systems, including food insecurities and food sourcing.
