Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership is a 9-month tenure-track faculty position requiring work in the areas of research, teaching, and service. Job responsibilities include developing a record of scholarly production that is characteristic of research-intensive land-grant institutions; impactful teaching in the area of educational leadership; and service that promotes the well-being of the program, department, college, university, and profession. Finally, through the areas of research, teaching, and service, this position requires the eventual development of a nationally identified scholar who has made significant contributions in the area of educational leadership and/or related fields.
The Educational Leadership Program of the Department of Counseling, Leadership, and Research Methods in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas seeks a collaborative, creative, and caring colleague who is committed to the improvement of schools. The Educational Leadership program currently offers three online degree programs (master's, specialist, and doctorate); thus, we seek a candidate who can innovatively promote school leadership development within an online learning environment. We seek a colleague who will: collaborate with current faculty in the design and implementation of curriculum; serve on and chair dissertation committees; participate in program administration including program recruitment, admissions, and assessment; engage in service activities in the department, university, and profession; work with colleagues to build and sustain partnerships with schools and districts throughout the state of Arkansas; and collaborate with colleagues to improve the educational opportunities and well-being of students, families, educators, schools, and communities in Arkansas and beyond.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Earned doctorate degree in educational leadership or related field conferred by the start of employment from an accredited institution of higher education
* Demonstrated research expertise and record within the field of educational leadership with an open area of specialization
* Evidence of exemplary performance and promise of success in research/scholarly activity
Preferred Qualifications:
* School administrator experience at the building or system level
* Experience with teaching at the college/university level
* Experience and ability with teaching in online environments
* Evidence developing and sustaining partnerships with the public school community
* Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on mentoring and coaching
* Evidence reflecting skills in effective writing (e.g., grant writing, professional or academic publications)
